About Mad Mats

How it started

Mad Mats is part of the Mats R Us Group — an Australian mat-making business that’s been around for years, doing serious commercial work like exhibition tiles, branded entrance mats, and bar mats for restaurants and clubs.

Mad Mats came out of one question: why are all consumer doormats so boring? The same beige “Welcome” mats, the same fake “Live Laugh Love” ones at the homewares shop. Meanwhile, we already had the printing kit to put anything anyone could draw onto a real, durable, indoor-outdoor mat.

So we built Mad Mats to be exactly that: your designs, our presses, on your floor. And because we couldn’t help ourselves, we added the side-hustle twist — every design uploaded to the site becomes a buyable product, and the original designer earns a $28–$90 rebate every time someone else buys it.

What you can do here

• Design your own mad mat — use the designer, pick a size, we print and post it.
• Earn 20% rebate — once your design lands in the gallery, every future sale earns you $28 to $90 depending on size.
• Just want to sell designs? Upload your artwork for $20 a design (no need to buy a mat). You still earn the rebate when it sells.
• Browse the gallery — if you find a design you love, buy it — and you’ll be sending a few dollars to the person who made it.

Mad Mats are printed at our Melbourne facility. Currently shipping Australia-wide, with overseas shipping in the works (we already have international production capacity through our partner factory in China).
