Privacy policy
The short versionWe collect only what we need to take your order, deliver your mat, and pay your designer rebate. We don’t sell your data.
What we collect
- Account details — name, email, password (or Google sign-in token if you use that path).
- Shipping address — required so we can post your mat.
- Order history — what you bought, when, for how much.
- Your designs — the artwork you upload or create in the designer becomes part of the public gallery, unless you choose to keep it private at checkout (you can also remove it later from My Earnings).
- Payment info — handled entirely by Stripe. Mad Mats never sees or stores your card number.
- Designer payout info — if you earn rebates, your bank/account details are held by Stripe Connect, not by us.
- Browsing data — standard server logs, cookies for cart/session, and (in future) anonymous Google Analytics.
How we use it
- To take and fulfil your order (print, package, ship).
- To send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and account emails.
- To pay designers their rebate ($28–$90 per mat, depending on size) on sales of their designs.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To improve the site (aggregated/anonymous analytics only).
Who we share it with
- Stripe — for processing payments and designer payouts. See stripe.com/au/privacy.
- Our printing & shipping providers — only the address and order details they need to deliver to you.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google. We receive your email, name and Google ID; Google doesn’t see your Mad Mats activity.
- Nobody else. We don’t sell, rent or share your data for marketing.
Cookies
We use cookies for: keeping you logged in, holding your cart between pages, security (Wordfence), and (future) anonymous analytics. You can clear cookies in your browser any time — you’ll just be logged out and your cart will reset.
Your rights (Australian Privacy Act)
You can ask us at any time to:
- See what data we hold about you.
- Correct anything wrong.
- Delete your account and associated data (subject to legal records-keeping for completed orders — we keep order/tax records for 7 years as required by Australian tax law).
